Last year I watched our very dear friend Steve Cook die from cancer. It happened so quickly and devastated so many people around him. For his family the heartbreak continues on a daily basis - his beautiful wife Tania struggles to carry on in a world without him and although she has now been adopted into our family we cannot begin to replace what has been lost.  We are there to love, hug, comfort and support for as long as we are needed and this experience has given me the drive to complete the Great North Run in memory of Steve and also for anyone else who is suffering from cancer, beaten cancer or yet to have that fight.  You never know what is round the corner.
