I've always fancied a go at running the London Marathon and now, with a few half-marathons under the belt it feels the right time to go for it! 

My chosen charity is the Children's and Teenage Cancer ward at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (Our Space Appeal).  The new unit for children and teenagers is a particularly important innovation to accommodate young people undergoing traumatic treatment for cancer some of whom are too old (and physically big!) for the children's ward but too young and emotionally under-developed for the adult ward. The unit has totally transformed the environment in which children, teenagers and young adults are treated. The careful use of design, lighting and colour has turned an ordinary hospital ward into a space that children and young people will find stimulating, whatever their age.  Of course, this fantastic space needs constant maintenance and your donation will go towards making the lives of our our young people more bearable while they have their chemo, radiotherapy or other treatment.
