Sightsavers' vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes and where visually impaired people participate equally in society.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ian and I are about to embark on one of our biggest ever challenges - The Nightrider!

Nightrider is a 100km moonlit charity ride past London’s iconic landmarks. Starting off way past our bedtime at 11.40pm, we will cycle from Crystal Palace in the south to Alexandra Palace in the north and back again - via Tower Bridge, through Canary Wharf, around Piccadilly Circus, and more...(chucking out I've at the pubs and clubs should be interesting!)

Why are we doing this?
Well apart from the obvious mid life crisis, we are raising money for the amazing charity Sightsavers (where I happen to work!)

Sightsavers works in in some of the poorest parts of the world to help restore sight & prevent blindness. Fact -There are 39 million blind people in the world and 80% of blindness can be prevented or cured. That's what Sightsavers aims to do.

I am raising money via a plant sale but anything else you would like to contribute will be very gratefully accepted. A little goes a very long way with Sightsavers. To put everything into perspective, it costs as little as:
35 pence to protect a family from river blindness for a year.
£8 for a trachoma operation, to stop someone from going blind.
£28 for an adult cataract operation to give someone their sight back.

Wish us luck!
