Story

Dear Friends

Thank you again to everyone who has pledged or made donations to my sponsored walk which takes place next weekend. Due to several colds and bronchitis continuously with me from November until the end of February and horrendous weather I have achieved no where near the amount of training that I would have liked.  Having only managed one 10 mile walk, I had hoped that for the last week I would be able to train in earnest, but last Friday I only managed 4 miles in a monsoon and this morning I have just found my snow boots to do battle with a horizontal snow blizzard and a North East gale!

Nevertheless Sunday the 17th March loams closer and I shall do my very best to finish the 14 miles. I have downloaded the route and see that a number of Pubs are supporting the March, where the 4,500 walkers will be able to refresh themselves and if I am still standing by the time I get to Sutton it will be a miracle!  The route starts at the Royal Marsden Chelsea and proceeds along the Fulham Road and continues down Putney High Street over Putney Bridge and across Wimbledon Common on to Raynes Park, King George's Playing Fields, Cheam and Nonsuch Park then ends at the Royal Marsden's hospital in Sutton with a massive welcoming party!

I am expected to complete the walk in 5 hours!  My start time is 10.45 am.
Here's hoping I reach the party before it ends on Sunday night!
With best wishes
Jackie
