Story

Thanks to all who have donated! Look out for me on the tele box!

  • UPDATE: I'm looking forward to the big day, not long now!
  • My number is 17947 incase there is a tracking system!

Well, so much for up to the minute updates on my training progress!! Here is a brief summary: JAN: Ahead of schedule in mileage, and speed looking good, until catching a cold at the end of the month which put me back to being on target. FEB: dropped the midweek runs (mostly due to work getting in the way) so only running twice a week, still on top of things until Kim passed the mutated cold back to me!! 2 weeks behind on training! MAR: work really taking its toll on training, but managed to get some decent mileage in at the weekends, completed the 14,16 and 18 mile long runs, but should have been up at 20 and 22 by now... Probably about 3 weeks down on training program, now only 2 weeks away from the big day. INJURIES: negligible, slight ache in my RH Achilles tendon, its been worse... so still on for race day!! thanks for the sponsorship so far everyone, I'll make sure I do you proud!!! :-)

Soooo.... Last year I did all the training and 1 week before the run I damaged by knee, therfore I deffered my entry to this year and i'm already 5 weeks in to the training programme!

I'm not only challenging myself by running the race, but I have also given up Alcohol and Meat until after the race!!!

I figure if its good enough for Scott Jurek (Goggle him!) and Mo Farah then there has to be somthing in it, so I'm giving it a go! I dont think I have given up alcohol for much more than 7 days since I was old enough to drink, and I have never had more than a week off the meat since I first tried Biltong (Google it!) as a toddler.

I'll try to remember to update my page as my training progresses.

Mcmillan is a charity that is never for from most peoples lives, and they deserve any help you can afford!
