A year on from Jacob's death he is still very much in our minds. 
We wonder what sort of big brother he would have been to Max.  Kate wonders if "Scout" would still be his favourite toy and peas his favourite food.  Sadly we will never know.  We do know that he was a somewhat magical little boy who has left a lasting impression on the friends, family, friends of friends that he met in his very short life.  It seems only fitting to update this story on the anniversary of his death in a hope that we can raise more money for our wonderful local hospital.

No amount is too small.

Tragically our darling boy, Jacob, died on 25th April 2014, in Normandy.  He developed pneumonia and septicemia as a complication of chicken pox.  We found out some hours after his death that he had a form of leukaemia.

Jacob had a wonderfully happy and uncomplicated life before his death.  He had travelled to Japan, Canada, France and Spain in his 18 months of life.  He did just about everything with a smile and a cackle.

He was born in the wonderful Tunbridge Wells Hospital and we would like to fundraise for them in his memory.  In February Jacob had an ear infection that spread to his mastoid bone behind his left ear and he had to have a minor operation.  The care and attention that he received on Hedgehog Ward reminded us of why we are so lucky to have this hospital on our doorstep.

The staff in the Women & Children's Department are now caring for Kate as she deals with Jacob's death and her third pregnancy (number 3 is due in September).  We cannot thank the team enough for all that they have done for us since we first came into contact with them in 2011, when our first son, Noah, was sadly stillborn, but raising some much needed funds for them in Jacob's memory seems like the very least that we can do.
