My daughter is a pupil of Wittersham CEP School - we are very luck as this is one of the few schools with an outdoor swimming pool in the county and kids can learn how to swim during the summer term.

As you can imagine, the upkeep cost for a swimming pool are really high and in 2022 it couldn't be used at all due to several issues with the pump and other components. Needless to say, the kids and parents were all very disappointed.

With cost of living rising continuously and with the 2 local pools (Rye and Tenterden) closed until further notice, it is more important than ever to offer pupils the possibility to learn to swim, especially in a safe and friendly environment such as Wittersham CEP School.

Wittersham School Association has many projects and ideas to raise money and when I saw the KM charity cycle, I couldn't say no! 70% of the money raised will go to Wittersham School Association, woth the remaining 30% going to the other charity project supported by KM.

I've already cycled for 100 km a few times, but normally I do this in the summer when the weather is better (-ish!) and after a fairly good training during spring... so it will be a challenge!
