My part in the 5x50 Challenge 2016 · 27 March 2016

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year's challenge is a kind of triathlon - well, 50 of them!

I am joining in the 5x50 challenge (http://www.5x50.org/the-2016-challenge) and I will be doing 5k every single day for 50 days, come rain or shine, either:

- on foot (walking or running)

- by bike

- in the pool, using my finest doggy paddle.

(Or possibly a combo of the three!)

Please note:  We raised £150.00 before the event starts on March 27th, so, as promised, I am ALSO giving up ALL ALCOHOL for the duration of the 5x50 challenge!  Thank you to those of you who sponsored me and spurred me on! xx

This year I am fundraising for the lovely people at Parkinson's UK. I bust my knee last year, and just being unable to do what I wanted when I wanted for four or five weeks drove me crazy. How must it feel to be in a situation where you cannot control what your body does from one day to the next? We take it so much for granted!

We have a much loved family member with Parkinsons, she is a real inspiration who is always smiling and has such a positive outlook on life despite an illness that is so debilitating and life-changing. I'm doing this for Margaret, and the thousands and thousands of other sufferers and their families.

I know times are hard, but even a wee pound of your money would be so, so appreciated. Thank you so much!
