Starting at midnight on 17th July I am planning to walk St Peter's Hospice Midnight Walk, 10 miles around Bristol with a great bunch of girlfriends. We are calling ourselves 'Colins Chicks'  (some of you may think 'old birds'!) We are walking in memory of Colin Wood, a lovely man and a good friend, who we all miss greatly, Colin and his family were supported by St Peter's during his illness and at the Knowle hospice in the latter days of his illness.

Apart from my support to the team,  I am personally walking in memory of my father who lost his battle with cancer aged 41.  I recall the support from some very special people at that time including the local GP and Health Visitor. But I'm sure if as a family we had had access to the type of support offered by St Peters today it would have helped enormously.

I would like to do all I can to help families have the support they need at such a difficult time.

Please help by donating something, anything to the cause. Sadly the Bristol Knowle Hospice was closed last year, it was an old building and needed a lot of money spent on renovation, unfortunately the amount needed was not available. The fairly new hospice at Brentry is now the main Bristol area hospice along with all the outreach nursing and support.
