We exist to see young lives changed by Jesus

Story

A few weeks ago I was back at my parents place. I’d gone back home to welcome my cousin back from South Africa on the Monday morning. We were having breakfast together as an extended family to celebrate him being home after 6 months working at LIV Village Cape Town. I wanted to be there to welcome him back to the UK. Coming back can sometimes be harder than leaving at times. People move on and things are different to when you lift. Can make one feel slight uneasy to say the least. However on this occasion, I’m proud to say, nothing had changed. My family are my family, we sat having breakfast, loving on each other and enjoying a space where we could just be.

This didn’t last long and within a few hours I was back on the road heading back to Cambridge. Driving is where my thinking happens. The time when there is space in my brain for God to chip in His opinion on my thoughts. I began thinking about family. Not the generic 2.4 kids type family. But the real, genuine, authentic, deep family. The family that take you as you are. That you have journeyed with not necessarily because you agree with, believe in or enjoy the same things but because you’re shooting for the same goal. You long for good things for those in your family.

As I continued my journey not wanting to miss the exit for the M11; I had a moment of realisation. Yes I adore my biological family, each and everyone of them. Keal-Abrahams-Pritchett-Parker troop you rock, I wouldn’t swap you for the world. But family goes further. I realised as I was driving to work really I was driving to meet with more of my family. The family I get to work with every day. The family I laugh with, drink coffee with, cry with, pray with and ultimately pursue Jesus with. We share a heart to see young peoples lives changed. We long to be relentless in our pursuit knowing what Jesus gave up for us and longing that He might get the glory coming first in all we do. We are His disciples, we want to see young people recognise who He is and become disciples themselves, sharing Jesus with their friends.

And on that note I leave you with a question, well 3 actually.

Would you like to be a part of my (really its Gods) Cambridge Youth for Christ’s family?
Would you like to be part of the family by running the Insane Terrain as a fundraiser?
If you’re not up for running it (you don’t do mud!) Would you be up for sponsoring me instead?
