Climbing Kilimanjaro · 15 October 2009
3/11/9
Well, I DID IT!!!! Six exhausting days up and two draining days down! The landscape en route was breath-taking changing on a daily basis through 4 different climate zones. It was certainly a life-journey to be remembered both mentally and physically. I went through the full gambit of emotions from the depths of despair, on day two, to ecstatic elation on summit day. In fact, the only downside is that all my pictures have been lost by my corrupted SD card. I’m in the process of trying to get copies from the others in my group. As soon as I have some to share I’ll put them on here to proof my achievement, I can always scan the certificate as proof.
Again THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me it made a huge difference to know that I had so many wonderful people in my corner.

Thanks so much to those who have already made a donation. I thought that I should update you all on my training...It was all going well until Saturday when the 2nd 10 mile walk in 2 days caused some pain in my lower calf. I decided that rest was in order...however I had planned to walk again today, it was not to be. Rest assured I'll be in the gym working my little heart out tomorrow!
Some of you might not remember that I have had some treking experience over the years; Mount Kinabulu (Borneo 4095m twice), the Macchu Pitchu trail (Peru), Torres del Paines (Chile), Queen Charlotte Sound & the Abel Tasman (both NZ). Those all that I can recall at present and the names have been added from memory so not spell-check.
I hope that gives you all a little more background & a progress report.

17/9/9 - Hi Everyone!
As you can see I am finally doing it! The countdown starts here...only 1 month to go!
On the 15th October 2009 my sister (Nicqui Bradshaw) and I will set off on our much planned trek up Mount Kilimanjaro. As many of you will know my training only started in earnest on my recent return to the UK after 6 years in Hong Kong. Although I have thrown myself into the gym and walking with enthusiasm the climb will be extremely challenging.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am confident that with the added encouragement created by raising money for a worthy charity (Medecins Sans Frontieres) I shall be able to summit on 22nd October.
So,thanks for taking the time to visit my new JustGiving page.
Please dig deep and donate now, 'every little bit helps.'
Many thanks and love to everyone who has taken the time to read this.
