Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Isla was diagnosed with Partial Agenesis of the corpus Callosum at birth. We had no idea at the time what that would mean for her and we are still learning all the time. The main difficulties Isla has are retaining any learning, hearing things clearly which means she’s easily distracted and doesn’t always focus on the correct sound. She also has hyper mobility which means she is extremely bendy but also impacts on her gross motor skills.

Through our contact with Corpal we have met other children and adults who all have a similar diagnosis’s to Isla but often present with different difficulties. As a charity they are working hard to support parents as well as teachers, they are launching a project to put together resources which can be used in the classroom to help teacher as well as provide materials which will prepare them for teaching children like Isla.

I’m hoping to raise some money towards this by running 2 10ks this year

Over the past week we have been informed of this Fundraising initiative Inspired by the late Sir Captain Moore to help Charities fundraise.

Corpal and other charities were given an exclusive invitation to listen to a Webinar co-hosted by his daughter Sarah to announce that on, what would have been on his 101 birthday TODAY! Sir Tom has asked for the number 100 to be used in anyway we like to help raise funds for our Charities. We were not allowed to announce this until today!  The Challenges for this event are suggested to be done over the May Bank Holiday Weekend 30th April – 3rd May.

Isla will be attempting to play snakes and ladders with 100 people over bank holiday weekend, if you could play as a family and send us a picture or come and play Isla in the garden
