Hey everyone! I am proudly fundraising for the incredible charity Restless Development as part of my ICS placement, where I'll be spending 3 months living with a host family in Uganda and working alongside Ugandan young people to contribute to community development.

Restless Development is a leading international development charity that works with young people across Africa and Asia to make lasting change in their communities and countries. Their work resonates so strongly with me! They have trained, inspired and helped more than seven million young people by giving them a voice, employment skills, health education, and helping them to become leaders in preventing and solving the world’s challenges.

There are so many "volunteer projects" abroad nowadays that are more like "volontourism", and don't actually benefit the local people. I LOVE that Restless is such an ethical and commendable charity, focused on long-term sustainable development.

It is an honour to raise money for them as part of my placement and I'm so excited to learn from the Ugandan people I meet through this project, as well as increasing my awareness of international development.
