Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am raising funds in aid of Mind by running the 2016 London Marathon.
Every year, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem, meaning the odds are very high that the person might be someone you know, or even you. Supporting a loved one to cope with depression and anxiety has helped me understand just how complex, isolating and misunderstood these problems can be.
Mental health problems are not about "being down" or sad. Without realising, you may already know someone with a mental health problem, who, despite appearances, is fighting a mental struggle to complete even the simplest of daily tasks. They could be in a great need of support, but are too embarrassed or ashamed to tell you.
Mind work to provide people with mental health problems (and those who care for them) with the support and information they need to help themselves to learn how to manage their illness and hopefully find a road to recovery.
