Story

On the 15th February the lives of myself and my family were flipped upside down! This was the day that my little sister, Leah Croucher, went missing!

The day started normally with everyone heading to work as usual including Leah. She was seen on CCTV walking along her usual route that she took every day but then she seemingly vanished without a trace! She has made no contact with anyone since! Her phone has not been used since and she has not used her bank card at all! Leaving our family in turmoil and the police puzzling about her disappearance and admitting themselves that frankly their “officers dealing with Leah’s disappearance have never dealt with a case like this”

Much like many of you are probably thinking right now, whenever I saw this kind of thing on the news in the past I felt sadness for the families and friends suffering; but naively I also thought that I would never be one of them people to encounter the pain and worry that is caused by a loved one going missing. Unfortunately for my family and I it is reality at the moment and the more time goes by the more desperate we are for some news that Leah is safe and well or better yet for Leah to come home!

Hours, days, weeks, months spent worrying about her safety. Wondering where she could be. Questioning how she is feeling and if she knows how desperately we all want her home.
Sleepless nights, emotional days and antagonising waits have become the norm.

I would never wish this pain or worry on anyone and whilst right now I feel very alone in my feelings because I do not know anyone else who has gone through this, I am sadly aware that there are many other families going through this devastation too. I know how important it is therefore for good support and that is what the missing people charity does. They “are a life line when someone disappears”.

This is why, me and my incredibly supportive friend Emma will be climbing Snowdon on 6th July.

I have two aims. Firstly, I would like to raise as much awareness of my sister Leah and her being missing in the most positive way. I hope that this will lead to information on her whereabouts.
Secondly I would like to raise as much money for a charity that right now is very close to my heart. A charity who in this unimaginable nightmare are able to provide support 24/7. They are fully qualified and are experienced in dealing with the families and friends of missing people. At a time where it feels like no one really knows what to say this could be exactly what is needed for people in the same position as me.

Emma and I would appreciate all of the support that you can give and any donations to this very deserving charity would be amazing!

Most of all though we ask that you stand by me, my family and Leah! Please never give up hope until we know she is safe.
