My name is Katy Stafford, I am a mental health nurse, working with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT), in mental heath hospitals across Sussex. The services support and get alongside people who are suffering with their mental health, and who are often at incredibly vulnerable and challenging points in their lives. One of my favourite things about our NHS and Trust is that it strives to offer service to people from all walks of life, with an aim not to discriminate, but to embrace caring for people unconditionally, without a cost/bill to be paid at the end.
The people who work in SPFT, and those who SPFT support, are truly inspiring and wonderful individuals, and an honour to work alongside. Which is why Heads On is the Charity we have picked.
Currently I am on shared parental leave and now have an amazing child; Jago, so my days are very different to work at present! Over the last few months I've had an itch to do something that fulfils my thirst to support people in need, at the same time as giving my daughter the deserved energy and time. This fundraiser combines the two, and hopefully gives Jago an early thirst and experience of supporting others.
Please see the picture for the details of the event. It's first aim to to bring people together for fun and wellbeing, and secondly to raise money for Heads On. If you are unable to attend but would still like to donate, that is greatly appreciated
