Bupa Great North Run 2012 · 16 September 2012 ·

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

I've always had a passion for curing cancer. I also possess the ability to run. In a moment of extreme revelation, epiphany even, I realised I could combine these two attributes to do something good; something I had never even envisaged in what I now call my 'pre-enlightenment' years. I would, this humble southerner, venture far up into the backwaters and infiltrate the northern clan as they all run around for charity. I'm told it's a cultural thing. I promise i'll keep up with them, but in return i'd love it if you could donate some money towards my £400 target for Cancer Research. They do some pretty good stuff.

I'm not just running thirteen miles. I'm running thirteen miles with northerners. Please sponsor.
