Despite saying never again after last year, this September I will be running the Great North Run again to raise money for the Ryan Stanford Appeal. This wonderful charity funds research into understanding the causes of Alpers' syndrome, a devastating, fatal mitochondrial disease which involves severe, uncontrollable epilepsy and a loss of developmental milestones in children.
All your donations, however big or small, will be extremely appreciated by the many families who have sadly lost their children to Alpers' syndrome including Ryan Stanford's.
