Tuesday 16th May 2017 - The day our lives changed forever.

At over 41 weeks pregnant (a week past my due date), James and I were devastated to be told that our babys heart had stopped beating.

3 days later, on the 19th May, I gave birth to our perfect princess, Sophia, weighing 7lb 1oz, with no signs of any explanation as to what had happened.

We were shocked (to say the least) that something so sudden had happened so far down the line of my healthy pregnancy, but horrified to hear that we may never know why.

'The Lily Mae Foundation' is a charity that was set up after a family lost their daughter in a far too similar way.  The comfort they provide to parents suffering at local hospitals, in the form of their memory making keepsake boxes, is invaluable and comes at a time when nothing in the world makes any sense.

We're raising money to help support the work they do and to raise awareness that stillbirths occur much more frequently than we ever could have imagined, which is why we have kindly asked for charitable donations instead of flowers for Sophias funeral.

Thanks to all for your love and support through this extremely painful time in our lives.  Together we can raise awareness and help to fund research into the causes of stillbirths and neonatal deaths.
