We raise funds for patients to enhance their care

Story

Together we are raising money to support Recovery Colleges across Northumberland Tyne and Wear.  Recovery Colleges are set up by people with lived experience of mental ill health to support others on their road to recovery.  By providing learning, hope, experience, opportunity and community they offer people the chance to make a real difference to their lives.

Hugely committed people have worked to create these colleges, usually with very little apart from their experience , their time, their enthusiasm and their drive.  This is our chance to give them a little support.

For my part I’ve never done a half marathon, am recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury but would like your support to get the fastest time I can.  I’ve heard so many great stories from people who have changed their lives through contact with the colleges.  Set me a challenge and let’s raise as much as we can to give them a helping hand.

Many thanks

James

About the charity

SHINE make a huge difference to the experience of service users cared for in our hospital sites and community services across the North East and Cumbria. Donations can provide the support for the extra things that would not be possible from funding we receive from central government alone.
