The Faces of CHD. 

Those that know me are aware of the struggles life has passed down to myself and those around me over the last few years. 2020 was a year that will always be remembered by everyone for so many reasons. 

For us it was the year our own Heart warrior was born with a heart defect which could not be cured. This brought so many painful minutes, hours and days which will always haunt us as parents. 

In the last couple of years we have come across so many heart warriors who face the same pathway and journey as Henry and they show so much courage and bravery everyday. These are the faces of CHD. 

CHD is cruel and everyday we see so many babies and children being taken by the angels too soon and reality sets in fast. 

Young at heart provide that support for parents and families under the care of Birmingham Children's Hospital cardiac department, support that helps to keep families together and find a way of making the best of life with their heart warriors. 

The charity is all volunteers based with no paid roles, just chairs, trustees and friends who work together to bring happy times and support to so many. 

I want to continue to raise awareness of CHD and also repay the inspiration given to me by these warriors every day.
