Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi I am Big James, they call me that as I am 7ft tall. This year on the 15th,16th,17th,18,and 19th of Novemeber am swapping the comfortable seat of my Boss's car for the open road and rough terrain, and walking to and from work to raise money for Children In Need.. I live exactly 3.7 miles away from work, so doing this daily I will be notching up 7.4 miles daily. Over the week I will cover 37 miles. This is easy you might say, however I am going to be donning a White Bunny outfit in an attempt to raise a great deal of awareness for the charity. From the age of 13 , I lived under the control of Hampshire County Council in various childrens homes, and then found myself in a flat on my own at 17, and under the eye of social services until i was 19 . This experience being my drive to help under priveliged children in general. Even though Children In Need is not directly linked to my experience the emphasis on the children in my inspiration. I am selling off parts of the bunnys body to local business' in and around the city, and am looking for donations from individuals aswell as companys to help me reach my final goal. The route I am training for at the moment is the route that I will take on those days, i will start off at my house, walk down Butts Road (so19) on to Portsmouth Road(so18) up to the Itchen Toll bridge over in to Ocean Village (SO14) through to Southampton City Centre also SO14, where my office is situated near to East Street. I am relying on sponsorship from the general public as on the days in question I will be walking with buckets to collect the pennies in order to reach my goal. On the final day, the rest of my team who I have the pleasure of working with at Pitman Training will don outfits of a farm yard nature and join me for the final mile. This is especially heart warming as we have two disabled members of staff who will activly walk the last mile with me to raise the maximum amount of awareness and funds for this amazing charity.... So please people dig deep, and help me and colleagues raise enough money for a sizeable donation for an amazing charity.
