Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My son Joseph was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes in October 2017 aged 4. It was a total shock as we had no family history.

We thought just cut out sugar, easy, not fully realising what a life threatening illness Diabetes is! If his blood glucose level goes too low, short term problems, if it goes too high this can lead to complications later in life! Everything affects his blood level, eating, exercise, sleeping, stress and normal colds and bugs.

Joseph is amazing, he has to have at least four injections everyday and numerous finger pricks to monitor his blood levels, he has never once complained!

He is my little superhero and I want to try and inspire him by showing him that anything is possible by running the London Marathon. Hopefully giving him a respectable time to beat when he's older!

I'm running to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), in their quest to find a cure and also to support the work they do to find new treatments which will hopefully benefit Joseph and other children in the future.
