Story

Thanks for visiting our page. We're cycling in a 100 mile race called the Ride100 on 2nd August. We just about completed it a couple of years ago (when we were slightly more streamlined), it was a painful slog and the hills almost broke us but we wanted to give it another go to raise money for a charity that has helped people close to us. It would mean the world to us if you could take a moment to read this and see why we'd like you to consider donating some money.

In January 2010, James' fiancée, Christina, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This is a cancer that develops in the lymphatic system, where the cancer cells cluster in the lymph nodes and form tumours. On discovering a lump in her neck she underwent an operation and six months of chemotherapy. After completing treatment (and coupled with her determination to live a normal life), she managed to beat it and went in to remission. She was fortunate that her type of cancer was responsive to the chemo, but there are many that aren't. Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research stop thousands of people dying of blood cancer every year and their researchers are even working to stop people developing blood cancer in the first place. A cycle ride to raise money is only a minuscule gesture to show our gratitude towards saving someone close to our hearts, but it's a small step towards helping to do the same for someone else.  Please donate so they can continue funding their research to eradicate blood cancers.

Here's a link to the charity's website if you're interested in learning more about what they do:  https://leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk

Thanks!
