Stepping Stones DS helps families navigate the journey from birth to adulthood, helping young people with Down syndrome (birth to 24 years) to fulfil their potential. We support children and young people with Down Syndrome and their families in North Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey.

Story

I'm running my first ever marathon in September, and want to raise funds for Stepping Stones DS, a local charity that supports children and young people with Down syndrome to fulfil their potential.

My friends little girl recently held a fundraiser for SSDS and raised over £3000 to ensure that her and her friends could continue to have fun (the kids and young adults see it as fun, but it's life changing skills that they find a bit more challenging wrapped up in a big fun activity that SSDS arrange).

Stepping Stones DS support over 150 families locally from newborns to young adults, and some parents even make contact before their babies are born. There are stay and play groups, early intervention classes, dance, drama, sports and communications groups, as well as the support provided to the schools the children are based in, plus specialised training and social events.

Any amount you can donate to this fantastic charity would be massively appreciated, thank you.
