Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have now run the Marathon - in a time of 2 hours and 3 minutes.  I was pretty happy with that, considering the problems I'd been having with my knees and the wedding the night before!

So, if you still want to sponsor me, it's not too late!

Thanks for you support,

James Lumley-Savile

This was my original plea for money:

As many of you may know, I will be running my first half-marathon on Sunday.  That's 13.1 miles (21.1 km) i.e. a long way!

But this is not just for my own well-being as I am raising money for the Bowel Cancer UK (www.bowelcanceruk.org.uk).  This is a great charity and I'm hoping to raise £500 for them.

This cancer seems to run in both sides of my family, so donate quickly as it may help us all out later on.

As an extra challenge I am running this the morning after being an usher at the wedding of a very good friend!

The event is the Royal Parks half-marathon, which has a really nice route around central London - Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Green Park and St. James's Park  (www.royalparkshalf.com).  It would be really great to see some of you down there.  Should be a fun day.  As well as the race there will be the Brakes Food & Fitness Festival  in Hyde Park. There will be a whole host of household names exhibiting their latest and tastiest foods, plus Farmers Market stalls with some of the country's best home-grown produce for you to sample and purchase.

So please dig deep and donate now.
