Charity - This is an important part of why I need to complete this race. I will be running for the kids at Edinburgh's sick Kids Hospital. Dear friends and family you all know me so I will spare you my profile. I signed up for this event 3 years ago (have to sign up 2 years in advance) but due to life commitments etc had to push back competing in 2014 however now after months of training I am slowly but surely building the mental strength to tackle this event. Please check it out (http://www.marathondessables.co.uk/) Known simply as the MdS, the race is a grueling multi-stage adventure through a formidable landscape in one of the world’s most inhospitable climates - the Sahara desert. The rules require you to be self-sufficient, to carry with you on your back everything except water that you need to survive. You are given a place in a tent to sleep at night, but any other equipment and food must be carried.
