On the 7th December 2021 we got a phone call to say a lady we cared for was in her final hours. At 10:03 my partner arrived at her flat, she had to wait almost 2 hours for a district nurse to come and advise on what to do. Sadly Barbara passed away at 17:05. The reason we are raising money for Age UK is because if my partner hadn’t have been there, Barbara may have died alone and in pain because the care system is no longer funded enough for carers to spend vital time with elderly people. As a charity, Age UK do everything they can to provide support for the elderly who don’t have people there to care for them.
