I received a phone call from my mum (Hilary, hence "Team Hil") three days before Christmas telling me that she had found a lump. We since learned that this was breast and lymphatic cancer which came as a massive shock. In order to do something positive my sister Sarah came up with the great idea of doing the We Love Manchester 10k which we have now done in 43mins and 16secs (see profile photo).

I also decided that I wanted to do the Three Peaks which involves climbing/running the three highest peaks in Britain within 24hours so good old (nearly 30) Mr Martin Baker is getting involved too to help raise even more money.

Ben Robinson aka Robbo came up with the idea of doing Man v.s. Mountain which we are going to "smash" on 6th September! This is a 20 mile run, swim and abseil up a down and up and down and around Snowdon. Nice.

Needless to say it is going to be a long summer of fun and sweating. To everyone's massive delight my mum is now on the mend which makes it even more necessary to donate as the cutting-edge treatment that she has received at the Christie has yielded results we would have scarcely believe possible six months ago when I received that phone call.

It's a great cause and Cancer seems to come into all of our lives at some point and in some way so any donations will be greatly appreciated.
