Story
As the end of a decade approaches, I will be raising urgent funds for the Waterloo foodbank, an organisation of extraordinary people who strive to provide emergency food supplies for those in this inner city London area. These include people on low incomes, those experiencing a sudden crisis redundancy, a benefit delay, an illness or even an unexpected bill that could mean it could be days before they can afford to eat their next meal.
These cases are becoming all too common, many of whom are ordinary hard working people who have been struck by tragedy and are in desperate need of aid. They have already helped provide food for nearly 3000 people this year alone, including over 1000 children, which is dramatically rising year on year. The stats are haunting, the threat of starvation is very real and I will do what I can to help them!
Since 2016 I have competed in a number of 5KM charity swims, but have never tackled this bad boy before! Swimming is one of my greatest passions, so I believe it is time for me to take on my biggest challenge yet, which is part of the official marathon swim events that take place annually at the Olympic pool at the London aquatic centre. The training is tough, the event will be even tougher but I believe in the miracles the people at the foodbank provide and the change is makes. That is all the inspiration I need.
No matter how big or small, I will accept any donations you may gratefully give, All proceeds go directly to the foodbank, and even the slightest change could make a difference to a starving family, especially as Christmas approaches.
Thank you for your time :)
