Story
There are many more obvious charities to raise money for than the Jo Cox Foundation. Organisations doing important work around health or education or poverty or numerous other deserving causes. But the bedrock of any society I want to be part of are mutual respect, empathy and understanding. A society that shows genuine care for all and seeks to bring people closer together not drive them apart. This is the mission of the Jo Cox Foundation. The murder of Jo in 2016 shocked the nation and sparked a wave of solidarity. The foundation set up in her name sets out to make sure the values with which she lived her life - respect, unity and compassion - are promoted, nurtured and nourished. We are in this together. We are interdependent. We must always remember, as Jo Cox famously said: "We have more in common than that which divides us."
