Story
In January 2019 my Grandad sadly passed away after suffering from dementia for a few years. In memory of him and to raise some money for Alzheimer's Research UK, I am going to be running the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon on 17th March 2019.
Over 850,000 people are currently living with dementia in the UK and that number is rapidly rising. Dementia costs the UK economy more than cancer and heart disease combined, but over two thirds of the care for dementia patients is paid for by themselves or their family.
The only way to overcome and really understand dementia is through scientific research. Please join me in raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK to help fight dementia. For every £1 donated, 85p powers the life-changing research and helps people to understand and take action on dementia. The remaining 15p raises their next £1 and funds essential running costs.
Thank you for your time and donations.
