No Surrender Charity - Climb Kilimanjaro 2010 · 21 September 2010 ·

The No Surrender Charitable Trust raises funds for research into cancer affecting young adults and all people with cancer with the worlds leading Oncologists. We also provides services to young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Story

On the 21st September 2010, friends, family, work colleagues and I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, the highest mountain in Africa. All the funds raised will be forThe No Surrender Charitable Trust (www.no-surrender.org), a charity set up by a young man named Jason Boas who, at the age of 33, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Jason established a networking website for young adults suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Sadly, Jason died in November 2008, but the No Surrender website continues to bring together young adults to support each other through the emotional distress and upheaval that a life threatening illness brings.

Furthermore, a Fellowship in Jason's name now supports basic science research into the treatment of pancreatic cancer and I am fortunate to be the inaugural recipient of this fellowship. There is still a long way to go, and climbing the mountain will be an extreme physical challenge, but with your support our fundraising will continue to honour Jason's vision with the website and also to support important cancer-related projects and research.

Many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please dig deep and donate now.
