The Samaritans are here for anyone in distress who needs someone to listen. Although we are part of the national Samaritans organisation, each branch is an independent charity. This means we depend entirely on local fundraising and donations.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We've decided, for our Silver Wedding, to collect silver (copper, paper, cheques as well) to support the work of Samaritans in Plymouth and the surrounding area.

Whilst the party is over and raised over £1000, we shall be dreaming of ever more unlikely ways of getting you to part with your money. Unlimited amounts of homemade cider are available for anyone willing to bring their donations personally.

Samaritans in Britain and Ireland receive over 5 million contacts each year from people in despair and distress and branches must all be self-sustaining.  This is our 25th anniversary but it is also the 40th anniversary of Samaritans in Plymouth.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Whatever you wish to give will be gratefully received.
