Story
I had COVID 4 weeks ago (28/08/2022) and thought I might have to pull out, it took 2 weeks to fully recover which explains the last minute fund raising - I didn't want to fundraise in the knowledge I might not be able to participate. For those who aren't aware of Leonard Cheshire, an extraordinary human being, his wife is probably better known - Sue Ryder. Clearly something of a power couple in philanthropy, an truly inspiring example to us all. Official wording is below:
I'm supporting Leonard Cheshire - supporting individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Led by people with experience of disability, we are at the heart of local life - opening doors to opportunity, choice and support in communities around the globe.Leading by example, we do everything humanly possible to empower people to live their lives a freely and as fully as they choose.
