Wild Futures is a UK registered charity founded on over five decades of experience as a leader in the field of primate welfare and conservation, environmental education, and sustainable practice. We also operate a sanctuary, caring for unwanted and neglected monkeys in need of a safe home for life.

Story

Whilst Jimi was in the UK, he discovered this small monkey sanctuary perched on the edge of a cliff in Cornwall. The sanctuary cares for a range of different species of monkeys all rescued from the UK and international pet trade. The Monkey Sanctaury is managed by the charity Wild Futures who work hard towards the day when all monkeys are free of the threat of the pet trade.

To have known Jimi is to have known his love of monkeys and in particular he loved this place and dragged us all there as often as he could. Before returning to NZ he went one last time to say goodbye to the monkeys and introduced Henry to the sanctuary. This is a very special place with a relaxed monkey-centred approach run by volunteer hippies and has an award winning vegetarian cafe.

I know Jimi would be delighted with the idea of raising money to help the monkeys and with bad weather and visitor numbers down in 2012 they are struggling financially.

Thanks for taking the time to consider a donation in lieu of flowers in memory of James. A donation however small ,will help keep this wonderful place open and the monkeys fed and safe.
