Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.

Back in the 90s I used to cycle as my chosen form of transport, just as a means of getting from A to B. In 2001 I was hit by a neurological illness called Gillian Barre Syndrome (GBS) causing total paralysis of my entire body. To cut a very long story short, I'm extremely lucky to be able to have regained full movement as GBS patients are usually left with life changing effects, one of which is fatigue. Every time I go on a long distance ride I always remember the time I was paralised and appreciate how lucky I am. So my reasons for taking on this challenge is simply because I'm able to, and raise money for Macmillan on the way, and why a target of £3000? Simple, it's £10 per mile!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
