My Dad died of dementia in 2011, but we as a family lost him bit by bit  in the years before that, as he was slowly and painfully robbed of everything that made him the person we knew and loved. I will never forget the torment he, and we went through, as we all struggled to make sense of what was happening to him.

Since that time, I know friends and other family members have had, and are having, similar experiences with their loved ones who've been struck down by this awful disease. To stop this devastating other people's lives, we need to fund research to help find a cure.
