Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
3 years ago I lost the use of my legs after a spinal cord operation. Since then, I have been working hard at getting my legs working again. I can now walk (in a fashion) with the aid of a 4-wheeled walker and I am still working hard to do better than that. In the meantime, I would like to put my new found walking and distance skills to some use.
On Friday 5th June 2015, I will be attempting to walk around 2 large office blocks (one is 6 floors high, the other 3) at my place of work within 8 hours. As I do this, I will also be collecting money for the people of Nepal who have just experienced 2 horrifically tragic earthquakes.
More than 8000 people lost their lives in the first quake with thousands injured and many more who have been left homeless without food, shelter and water. Please also don't forget that the Gurkhas come from Nepal. The Gurkhas who have have fought and died for us. Please let us now help them.
All monies raised will go to the charity www.plan-uk.org who are one of the largest children's charities in the world. I have chosen this charity because they are a charity that I regularly support. Plan have been in Nepal since 1978 and are now on the ground delivering emergency aid to families who are in urgent need of it. Please look at their web page to see what they have been doing.
I appreciate times are hard and people may have already donated to the Nepal Earthquake Fund, but, this will not be an easy challenge for me (even though my friend Rachel will be with me to mop my brow and feed me chocolate) so please humour me folks, and donate whatever you can. No amount is too small, I will just be eternally grateful for your support!! Thank you so much!! Jane x :-)
