I have had cancer and have been lucky enough to benefit enormously from treatments that were developed by the help of funds raised for Cancer Research UK, I have been all clear now for a couple of years and am now fully recovered but thought it was time I gave something back. I was thinking of doing something that would raise money but utilised the skills and contacts I have so an idea formed of dressing folks in nothing more than a few well placed flowers and foliages and getting them photographed for a fund raising Calendar. I asked lots of my wonderful Wedding Supplier friends to contribute, some have of course been enlisted as models whilst others have offered services such as Photography, Make Up, Venues and printing. In the end we had far too may Models on offer and have decided to make a "Gents Only" calendar for 2016 and perhaps a "Ladies Only" version for 2017/2018.

Flowers are very seasonal and we wanted the images to reflect that, showing the cycle of life and the sheer joy of it!!! The very first shoot was in November and featured these very brave boys with not only the tools of their trade but a myriad of fresh flowers too;  my lovely husband Jason Thompson rowed into the centre of the lake and standing up in the boat with nothing more than a heart of red roses protecting his dignity he will of course be "Mr February", the fabulous award winning Wedding Singer and Fleetwood boy Howard Wing was dressed in a "Floral Thong" with and a Bow Tie & Cuffs created from Fresh seasonal material he is our "Mr December", the wonderful Fylde Coast photographer "James Jebson" donned "Floral Epaulettes" and his trusty Camera covered all of his essential bits, we have the ultimate "Naked Chef" with Martyn Jones from "With a Twist" cooking on a BBQ with a tiny "Apron of Leaves"  to guard his manhood from the heat, a spectacular headdress of tropical and Oriental blooms was designed for Wedding and Event Hairstylist Duncan Fisher and "Funtime Frankies" band leader John Baker was photographed performing his iconic guitar playing jump whilst ensuring everything stayed in place,  Wedding Cake Baker and decorator Joe Hargreaves was strategically positioned alongside his rather magnificent towering Cake.  All of the images were taken at the oldest privately owned historical house & Wedding venue in Lancashire "Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn" and our intrepid photographer is the incredible Charlotte Boothman of Lottie Design who studied her craft at Blackpool & The Fylde College.

 

The next shoot is scheduled for March where we'll be concentrating on Spring and Early Summer, the Calendar will be available to purchase from May 2015, we have a wonderful Facebook page which we will use to launch the Calendar so we do need as many "Likers" as possible https://www.facebook.com/GetYourKitOffForCancer .
