Furthering our commitment to rid the world of Child Labour; I am joined by my husband (Gary) as we attempt to climb Mt Blanc... with Gary carrying a Sack of Rubbish!

Protesting against Child Labour; we will climb the mountain with a similar sack of recyclable materials that our school children would have carried when they worked picking through the garbage on Manilas Smokey Mountain dump-site.

 Mt Blanc is the highest mountain in western Europe at 4808 meters (over half the height of Mt Everest).

The climb will be especially challenging for me because I broke my ankle in February and have only been able to train for a very short time.  My husband is somewhat fitter... that’s why he’s carrying the rubbish sack!  Gary has just returned from climbing Americas highest peak - Mt Mckinley in Alaska (on a fundraising epic for PCF); Gary can’t wait to get in the mountains again...

18 months ago Gary and I attempted to climb Mt Blanc from the French side of the mountain but had to abandon the challenge because of an avalanche  – this time we are hoping for better conditions; however, we will be climbing the technically more difficult Italian route.
