My brother Calum & his girl-friend Jean flew to New York on the 7th December 2013, and while skating at Central Park, Calum proposed to Jean. My family & I were absolutely delighted and so very, very happy for them both.
He had been having headaches for a while and was told first of all he had a virus then told he was suffering from migraines, so after a 3rd visit to A & E, the doctor FINALLY ordered a CT, which showed a mass within the "Corpus Collosum". After a biopsy on the 19th December, 6 days before Christmas, he was told he had a "Grade 4", inoperable, aggressive growing, Glioblastoma Brain Tumour".
His & all our lives have NOT been the same since & NEVER will be again.
Calum & Jean got married in a small ceremony in Oban on 6th February. Calum has completed 6 weeks of Radiation & Chemotherapy, with terrible side-effects of clots on both lungs, hair loss, memory impairment, seizures, to name a few.
This despicable, EVIL cancer has a 0% survival rate, there is NO remission & very few treatment options...and the treatments only buy TIME.
Myself, Jean and other family members & friends are all running on the 11th May for "Team Calum". He has served "Queen & Country" all his life, first joining the Royal Navy, then the Coast Guards and latterly the Ambulance Service, as a dispatcher for emergency aircraft.
He is our Hero & our Rock, and we can't imagine our lives without him in it.
Calum has chosen the Beatson Cancer Charity for all the donations to go to, as he has received fantastic care and excellent treatment from all the nurses and specialists he has met there.
Please donate whatever you can afford, and hopefully one day this EVIL cancer, will get cancer and disappear from this world forever, so no other family will have to endure the nightmare Calum is living with right now.
THANK-YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
