Bobath Scotland is a charity devoted to improving the quality of life for children and adults with cerebral palsy. The Bobath approach enhances an individual's mobility, communication and independent living skills and improves their everyday quality of life. Bobath equips carers, the individual with cerebral palsy and anyone else involved in the child's or adult's life with skills to support them in achieving goals that meet their needs.

Cerebral palsy is caused by damage to the motor control centres of the developing brain and can occur during pregnancy, childbirth or after birth up to about age three. It affects approximately one in every 500 children and causes physical disability such as disturbances in movement and posture, and can affect sight, hearing, and communication skills.
