Most of you know I lost my dad to Myeloma in March 2016. It was a tough 3 years of ups and downs and I have never seen someone fight so hard. His life moto was "in the joy of others lies our own" and by raising money for Myeloma UK I hope to help others in a similar position cope with Myeloma and help fund discovery of more treatments to cure this aggressive disease.
There are approximately 5,500 people diagnosed with myeloma every year in the UK. It is the second most common form of blood cancer, but only represents 2% of all cancers. Myeloma UK helps to accelerate the discovery, development and access to new treatments, while helping patients and their families cope with everything a diagnosis of myeloma brings.
I've always wanted a physical challenge and Mount Kilimanjaro seemed fit after surgery on my knee last year. My lovely friends Sajel, Sitara, Dipika, Prina and Damini are all joining me on this adventure so wish us luck!!
