I would like to drive further awareness of this condition as I am Type 1 insulin dependent diabetic and I was diagnosed with the condition in my second year of college at 17 years old. I’m now 25 years old and have been managing the condition for 8 years which is not always easy but I have felt a million times better since I was diagnosed and put on insulin. I have always been extremely sporty and have played semi-professional football and am a keen cricketer, golfer, swimmer but running has not always been easy for me. Completing the marathon will enable me to fulfil a lifelong dream whilst also helping people who have a similar condition to myself and also improve the lives of people with type 2 diabetes.
