Story

Hi, my name is Jason Mitchell, I am 40 years old and live and work in Dumfries. I have been a Police officer within Dumfries and Galloway for 8 years.
About 2 years ago I was relatively fit and healthy.
About 12 months ago I fell ill with Thyroid problems. At the time I under went tests to rule out lung disease and lung cancer. Although all clear that was probably the scariest few days of my life. Since then I have been battling Hypothyroid and depression trying to get my fitness back after gaining almost 3 stone in weight.
On 29.05.16 I will be running the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer. I am doing this in memory of my wife's late mum and all those friends and family who have lost loved ones to this horrible disease.
