Story

Hi Folks,
Well March 25th was a day I wont forget not just because it was the day before I turned 40, but because it was the day we found out Joe had a Brain Tumour.

We were taken from East Surrey Hospital & rushed to St Georges in Tooting London, from there on our lives changed. We were met by Doctors, Nurses and Surgeons, information was thrown at us about Joe about what was going to happen and when.

That night we slept in the hospital, Jackie in bed with Joe, myself on two chairs pushed together at their side. The next day our families rallied round and the roller coaster that hospitals are began.
Before we knew it it was late afternoon and we were still stood in our work clothes from the day before. That's when news came that we had been given a room at the Ronald McDonald house, I had heard of this before, sadly my cousin had to use them before for their child Alex.  (As it turns out the same house)

I had no idea what to expect though. Upon arriving I was met by one of the team members who ran through all the facilities. This included our own room shower etc, downstairs a quiet room , a kitchen, a dining room, playroom and a TV room, all this for no money, just the respect for the facilities and the other families staying there. So for the next two weeks my Wife & I took it in turns to sleep at the house while the other slept in the ward next to Joe.
What's the big deal you might ask?  Well my Wife and I spent two weeks there two very troubled weeks, it was important for us to be close to Joe during his stay in hospital he was having brain surgery after.  Without the help & support of the Ronald McDonald House, Tooting.  Our families couldn't be close to Joe during his most trying times, I know we wouldn't of been able to cope half as well without the support & help from the Ronald McDonald House and their staff.
This facility allows families with seriously ill children to stay at the hospital close to their children, but its more than that it's an oasis of help & support in what can be a very trying time in any families life. The House is run completly on donations and charity.

So what am I doing?  Well for whatever reason I stopped shaving the day the Joe went in that was March 25th, I've got what they call a Fisherman's beard thick n'curly.  So I'm going to have it dyed & coloured so I look even more foolish...
What I'd like is as many donations as possible & suggestions for colours etc.  If I get enough money who knows I might even dye my hair.  So get together think of some things, colours etc. pledge the money & drop me a message to your suggestion.

Thankyou for your time & your donation.
Regards
Jason Spencer-Brown.
