Story
In the immortal words of Britney... "Oops, I did it again".
After my winter hibernation (shutting my eyes to any form of exercise) I came to the realisation that I was definitely getting a bit wobbly round the midsection. All that Christmas and Easter excess has contributed to this as has the Guinness brewery!
Anyway, long story short, I have signed up for the London to Cambridge again. Hot off the success of last year (I actually finished it alive), it seemed like a good idea.
I have already been out on my bike 3 times so far and have suffered punctures on two seperate occasions, so not a great sign. Still, I repaired them quickly enough.
Many thanks to all those who sponsored me for the ride last year. You all managed to help me raise the grand total of £189.49 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Hopefully you will all be willing to sponsor me again this year and raise even more. See the bit on the left here for more details on the good work this charity does.
To add a bit more of a challenge this year and also to encourage more sponsorship I have decided to do the ride in FANCY DRESS. Not many people on the ride do this so I shall probably look a complete Charlie!
Not only that, I would like YOU to put your suggestions for the fancy dress costume I should wear in the comments field when you sponsor me and I will choose one for the ride (Oh no, what the hell am I doing!?). Please be mindful that it will be July so no gorilla costumes!
I will also be with a mate of mine, Leam. He has said he wouldn't mind doing fancy dress either so if you can think of both when suggesting costumes all the better. He may as well look like a muppet too!
I will update this page with the selection of costume at the beginning of July (so I have a chance to source or make it) and will also post pictures of me wearing it on the ride, the day after the ride.
So, I have put myself out there for general ridicule. Please get sponsoring and suggesting.
Thanks and over to you (again)! - :o) Jay x
