My dad Paul Bevan died suddenly of cancer when I was 8. A successful energetic businessman, committed father and ex professional sportsman, he was diagnosed aged 42 and died in months. The Paul Bevan Day Hospice was created by my Mum and family friends to help others in the same plight, and quickly grew to look after several thousand people. Now merged as Thames Hospice, this amazing and highly regarded organisation will soon move into its new £22M home on Bray lake to create one of the best facilities of it's kind in the world, caring for people with life limiting conditions. With £6M for the hospice to raise (plus a cool £7m of annual running costs), I asked friends and family to come together to create the Big Mountain Challenge, cycling iconic Tour De France climbs in the Alps to help our hospice patients climb their own mountain. With major sponsors and the participation of Tour De France pro riders and extensive vehicle support, we are committed to raising a six figure sum to help the hospice provide comfort, care and love for patients, when it matters most. After 18 months pulling the event together, cycling the Alps will be the easy bit! Thank you for your support.
