Lohri is a Punjabi festival that was traditionally only celebrated for boys but Her Lohri 2016 is being held to celebrate the girl child and in addition aims to raise funds for the many disadvantaged girls who have been orphaned or abandoned simply for being girls. All funds raised will go via the Sikh Union umbrella to both Asha Sadan Orphanage Delhi, a home for rescued girls and Unique Home Jalandhar which supports girls who have been discarded because of their gender. Help us to help these girls become independent young individuals who can support themselves in the future.
